The person behind Orbasics
Hi, I'm Lilija.
For many years, I've explored sustainable and ethical fashion — and what the things around us mean for our health and the way we live.
It began with a search for clothing for my daughter. I wanted to understand the materials she would wear, how they were processed, and the working conditions of the people who made them.
That search became Orbasics. Building the brand meant learning about fibres, dyeing processes and certifications, working with manufacturers and developing our own products. My curiosity grew into practical experience, from the first idea to a finished garment.
Looking more closely at everyday life.
Over time, my questions reached beyond clothing: to the cream in the bathroom, the laundry detergent, and the things we use at home. We often can't see what goes into them, even though the products are right in front of us every day.
I wanted to understand where potentially harmful substances can occur, what we know about their possible effects on our health, and which alternatives are available. Those questions still guide my work.
I like getting to the bottom of things, comparing products and questioning their promises. Through the Orbasics Journal, I turn my research into clear articles and practical guidance. I want that knowledge to help you make your own choices.
